Issue with quantity and adding to cart

Hello all. I am using Joomla 3.10.3 and Virtuemart 3.8.8. As everyone knows you add 10 items in stock but some may be booked. Lets say in our example we have 2 booked out of 8 so the proper availability should be 8.

What is happening is this: In product details page, customer can add more than 8 products in cart.
Also if you add lets say 1 product and then go to cart/checkout and try to add more than 8 then you will see that you added lets say 9 but price will be for 8.

Is this common issue or is there a change that is due to templating? If its due to templating do you know where and which files are responsible for these actions so I can get the correct ones from Virtuemart core files?

try with no template over rides as afaik this should work .. yes .. u can add say 10 if only 8 but the popup will say sorry  .. blah blah  .. only 8 added

in the cart from memory u can increase to 10 but on confirm a message says only 8 ordered
