Currency plugin inside joomla plugins folder

Hi! is it possible to develop a VM currency plugin that works as a joomla plugin as it does the payment, shipment or custom plugins?

I wonder if that is possible because I'm in need to develop a currency plugin that can be configurable by the end user through joomla plugin edit view.

What is "curency plugin" and what do you need?

We have a lot's of plugins for virtuemart, which we don't show on minijoomla.org, but use it on our shops.
