Multi variant doesn't load the product in the backend

Can someone help me out? I want to try out multi variant in my new shop (instead of generic child variant) and I want to test some things out, but for some reason when I activate the multi variant in my product I cannot load the product in the backend anymore. Nothing comes up. Does anyone know why this happens?

I can load other products fine that does not have the custom field child variant active. And when I delete the multivariant custom field in works again. So it seems that that specific custom field is bugged. Do I just have to use the generic child variant again?

EDIT: I found the solution. For some reason the tabs are displayed as display:none. When I toggled that with google developer tools it displays again.

But i got another question. I made multiple child products but I cannot seem to make it work. I have the child variants as different weight, but when I select that option it takes the url of that value instead of taking the actual link. How can I fix this?

I'm not sure what exactly you mean. Can you give an example of what you get?
Perhaps log into the VirtueMart Demo on http://demo.virtuemart.net and look at the 'Multi Variant' product and it's children setup as a guideline.
