Activation Email message does not contain activation link

VirtueMart version 3.6.10.  the registration activation email is sent to the customer's email but the following code is all that is in the body of the email:

COM_USERS_EMAIL_REGISTERED_WITH_ACTIVATION_BODY

There is no link to activate.

Help please!

COM_USERS_EMAIL_REGISTERED_WITH_ACTIVATION_BODY is defined in JoomlaRoot/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_users.ini  ---

COM_USERS_EMAIL_REGISTERED_WITH_ACTIVATION_BODY="Hello %s,\n\nThank you for registering at %s. Your account is created and must be activated before you can use it.\nTo activate the account select the following link or copy-paste it in your browser:\n%s \n\nAfter activation you may login to %s using the following username and password:\n\nUsername: %s\nPassword: %s"

Check that you have that language file, but be aware that it is not usual to require shoppers to confirm registration when shopping. Many would abandon the cart and go elsewhere to buy.
