Shipping being added twice

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so apologies if it is not.

Im working on a friends website and they are using Joomla 2.5.16 and VM 2.0.22a (I know its old, at present I dont have access to make site backups before upgrading to the latest versions)

The problem is this..
I can go to site and purchase an item. the checkout shows the item at £21.95 plus postage at £2.95 giving a basket total of £24.90.
(In the backend (admin) section it shows Order total sent to paypal to be £24.90)

It then redirects to Paypal where the Paypal order summary shows the item at £24.90 but then adds the postage and packing on again at £2.95 making a total of £27.85.

It all then throws a tantrum as it doesn't match and I get an IPN notice and the order doesn't go through.

Can someone please help me.

you have your paypal adding postage i assume.. switch it off in the paypal management
