Children Category display with thumbnails

Virtuemart Version: 3.0.12

I would like to display all children categories, for a particular parent category, in a stand alone module, similar to how it is show on the bottom of the product details page (when you select show children category in Template configuration tab).

e.g. on this product details page http://healthcarecbn.com.cp-45.webhostbox.net/index.php/products/category/pharmaceuticals/norprolac-detail

I would like to display the sub categories shown on that page in a separate module in a similar way with thumbnails.
