Mark a product as 'new'

Hello everyone,

We've just launched a brand new site using VM and we've been asked how we can mark products as 'new'.

Most products are listed as 'new' at the moment because we've only just added them but is there a way to force a product to be marked as 'new' even if it has been in the store for some time?
