orderlist -> page 2 -> do something. press update -> bam ..back to page 1 = WHY?

can someone explain to me why this makes sense?
if you for example change the status of a order from confirmed to sent on page two, you go to page one after page reload.
It seems like its been like this forever - but is there a logic to this?
is it because you expect that the user will continue looking at new orders? (because he can make all the changes he want before pressing update?)

it doesnt match my workflow - especially not when working with other parts of VM (product list, shopperfield list etc)

running J!3.4.3 & VM3.0.9
