[fixed] "SAVE", "SAVE & CLOSE", AND "CANCEL" don't work when updating PRODUCTS

virtuemart version:  2.0.20b
joomla version: 2.5.11
HI so i'm going to be as descriptive as possible. I been reading for 3 days now all the topics about this issue on here and i can't find this same exact scenerio happening to anyone so hopefully it's something easily fixed.

i recently finished my website which i had everything instealled in www.vtpros.net/joomla instead of just www.vtpros.net, and when i took everything that was in the joomla folder and moved it under www.vtpros.net well everthing worked perfect, no glitches, all links work perfect.

when i went under virtuemart to updated some of my products, it's almost like the "save, save & close and cancel" buttons all don't work, it's not even registering that they are being clicked. They do work with virtuemart doing ANYTHING ELSE...but when updating products and categories, nothing seems to save but a "#" updates at the end of my link, for example before i try clicking, it will show this link in the address bar:

http://vtpros.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=product&task=edit&virtuemart_product_id=28&product_parent_id=0

and after clicking:

http://vtpros.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=product&task=edit&virtuemart_product_id=28&product_parent_id=0#

but nothing takes effect, not the usual refresh, even in debug mode, it doesn't update to say anything.

this is what i've tried so far, tried to find the virtuemart.cfg.php which doesn't quiet exist so i'm guessing it's the virtuemart.cfg but doesn't have the links that the forum said to look for and update in it, that file is located in (administrator/com_virtuemart...)

also i can't update to the latest virtuemart, not even manually, it won't allow me, so my guess is that moving to a new folder has changed something that won't let me update the tables, please any help is greatly appriciated. The website works fine but i def. need to figure this out so i can update my products in the future.

I have tried everything in that post and nothing seems to work. I pretty much read all possible fixes on this forum but nothing seems to help.

Only thing about the post you shared is that the 2nd post in there explains how the vendor id = 1. Well my vendor id = 985. Could that be the issue?

Still unable to edit or save changes to my products and categories, but i can change any other changes in virtuemart. Also can't update virtuemart at all even manual. Please help!!!

Hi

I know this is an old topic, but I am facing the same issue and coincidentally, I also moved my site from www.mydomain.com/folder/ to the domain root, just like you, so there must be a config file somewhere in there which still points to the original installation location.

I'm going to investigate!

EDIT: I've just discovered that it was all due to the Acymailing WYSIWYG text editor causing the page not to save!! I switched it back to TinyMCE and it works!!1

Usually the reason for a not working toolbar in joomla is some javascript conflict.

Everything works in my VirtueMart 3.0.6.2 except in the products the SAVE, SAVE & CLOSE and CANCEL buttons don't work. I'm logged in as a vender. I see the vender tab. I looked in my database and the ID=1. Any suggestions?

SOLVED. I upgraded to the next version. Now the save buttons work.

I have the latest version and still the same problem any suggestions?

I have installed just joomla and latest virtumart nothing else, fresh installation on different live servers and same error. Please help.

Sorry I just notice that the version in virtuemart here http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files and the one that you donwload front virtuemart website front page are different. Once I installed latest version the problem was fixed. =)
