custom fields are linked to product details

Hello guys
i have a problem with virtumart 3. I am using the newest version of both - Joomla and Virtuemart.

for my products i have created a multi variant custom field with 2 ramifications - both with 3 variants.  when i try in the frontend to choose a variant,  virtuemart is automatically loading the product details instead of selecting the variant. is this a bug or did i make somehow a mistake?
