Is there any guide to migrate from VM 2.0 to 2.9

Hi friends,

Is there any guide to migrate from VM 2.08 to 2.9.
I have Joomla 2.5.16

Guess I will have to upgrade Joomla to 3.3 first and then VM

NO!!! First you should update your VirtueMart to 2.6.12 and Joomla to 2.5.27   -  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0

Once there sort out any issues that arise (eg if you use a commercial template you may have to update/edit any template overrides).

Then you can update your VM to VM2.9.9.x or VM3 if it has been released by then, as VM3 is designed to work with J2.5.x and J3.x

Then if any 3rd plugins or other components etc that you use are available in J3.x compatible versions you can consider updating your Joomla to J3.x - and update Joomla template etc as required.  But experienced shows that Joomla 3 sites run slower than the equivalent J2.5 sites, and currently there are less security worries with J2.5 than there are with J3.

Naturally test all this on a backup copy of your existing site.
