Even though I set a minimum order amount for a product, I am still able to set the order amount for an item in the front end at a number below the minimum and it adds it to the shopping cart. I get a warning, that there is a minimum amount to order, at each step of the checkout yet it still takes me all the way to the paypal payment site. If the minimum amount is set at 3, there should be no way for a shopper to set it below that amount.

Using VM 2.9.9e on Joomla 3.3.6

So far everything else looks good.

That was quick! Thanks. Do I have to wait for the next RC version to see it?

Installed 2.2.9f and see the fix in the checkout page. However one can still type in or use the plus or minus icons to create a total order amount in the frontend that is less than what is set in the admin. I should think that the number on the product page should not be allowed to be set at a number below the minimum. But maybe that's just me.

Imagine the minimum is 500 euro and you have some products for 50 euro. I doubt it makes sense to forbid the user to have somethinge below this order amount in the cart. He must have a possibility to reach this amount, without being stressed already with "buy more "

Milbo, it could be a matter of packaging: eg the seller wants to be clear that buyers are buying a distinct item, but the minimum quantity could not be less than x because of a peculiar package, or due to the supply chain, or maybe due to a special offer...

We mix here something

One time we talk about the minimum ORDER amount. The other time about the minimum of a PRODUCT amount within an order.

Sorry, that was wrong wording on my part. It is about the minimum product amount. If the minimum product amount is 3, the shopper should not be able to change that to a lesser number (1 or 2) when they are adding a product to the shopping cart. Currently, if they do change that and order 2 instead of 3, the shopping cart ends up showing 3. I simply think they should not be able to do that when they are ordering a product. It may create confusion, with them thinking they have ordered 2 and not pay attention to the shopping cart which says 3. I hope this clears things up.
