Updating product prices dynamically from an xml or feed file

Hello smart guys out there;
I have come across with a client that needs a website to sell precious metals. The shopping cart will require that the products price be updated dynamically from a XML file or a feed.
I believe the best option will be updating it from a .xml file.
For example gold changes the price constantly therefore it will be impossible to relay on setting up the price manually.

Please advised me if this will be possible or if there is plugin or module that can accomplish this.

I don't know of any extensions although maybe csvi improved can do it.  http://www.csvimproved.com/

we also build our own import script for this purpose and run it by cron job
