New Idea for Product Import

I have an Idea to import product from any webpage. Suppose you have a url of ebay on which a product detail page is coming. Need to develop an extension in which just need to insert the URL from amazon and all the information like images, description and price etc will be fetched automatically and will create a new product into database of the virtuemart product.

Is it possible any way. Any suggestion will be appreciate.

a big project - can see all sorts of problems

but basically a scrape of the amazon page - extract and clean the data and then import into the VM tables

Unless you own the product I would suggest there are copyright issues with doing this!
