Country and State Fields Are NOT Validated Even on VirtueMart Demo Site

Dear Virtuemart. I noticed that country & state fields are not being validated on my site. I saw few people tried to implement custom solutions, but that didn't work for me. I also noticed that it's not even working on your demo site here: http://demo.virtuemart.net/index.php/2012-01-13-09-33-20/account-maintenance/editaddresscheckoutBT

Does anyone have a clue as to whether this will be fixed or not? Does anyone have a solution that I can apply? I am still running 2.0.22a version. I tried installing the latest version, but that still has the same issue. Please help. Thank you in advance.

I noticed that when I uncheck "Use jQuery chosen for dropdowns in FE" in VM config, Firefox will validate the state field as the very last step, Chrome will just display a tooltip, but still redirect and IE will not validate it. I did not check other browsers. Any ideas, please?
