Selling in boxes... setting up prices, display quantities

Hello,
VM 2.0.24, J 2.5.14

I'm trying to set up a shop selling laminated flooring. I want to:

#1. sell product in sets (boxes) of fixed quantities (i.e. 1,56 or 2,2 square meters - depending on product)
#2. show in a cart both: number of ordered boxes and number of ordered square meters.

How can I achieve it?

It would be nice to get a solution working similar to: www.twojepanele.pl, however:

My idea to solve problem #1 is to do it in 2 ways:

option 1 - sell "meters" - then AFAIK I need to set up "quantity steps" somewhere in VM, but I can't see such option in VM. This solution would be best for me and actually would be enough to run selling.

option 2 - sell "boxes" OK, easy to configure price, put unit price in short description - but then I definitely must solve problem #2

Could somebody help? I digged the forum and google but only help I found was to name correctly my own problem, I hope
