Shipping Question re different shipping for different products

Hello,

Is it possible in VM to have different shipping for different products?

Scenario
1) Paintings sold in Australia free shipping
2) Paintings sold overseas a set price
3) Other products (ie t-shirts, caps etc) weight based sold in Australia using Aust Post
4) Other products (ie t-shirts, caps etc) weight based sold outside Australia using Aust Post.

You can do all that. It would be possible with the supplied weight/zip/country plugin, but I'd use this plugin which can do all you want - and more - http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=112127.0

Actually, my "Shipping by Rules" plugin is not able to set SKU- or category-specific shipping. Sorry.

you might be able to do what you need using the existing plugin - setting the weights for paintings such that they fall into their own shipping category

e.g.

painting product weight = 999kg

all other product weights < 999kg

then set the country to Aus for each shipping band by weight.

Aus - 0-5 kg = $10
Aus - 5.1 - 10kg = $20
Aus - 10.1 - 998.9kg = $50
Aus - 999 - 9999999 = $100 Paintings (although multiple paintings still charge $100 as do paintings + a cap!


Do the same for other countries
