Pagination issues

I am having ongoing pagination issues that applies to different templates that I am running so I have isolated the problem to Virtuemart.  See: http://redtgolf.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=19&Itemid=629&filter_product=&limit=20

I have three issues:
1. The dropdown pagination does not work correctly in that if I specify twenty pages it still just shows ten,
2. If I select the page numbers from the enumerated pages, ie Start, Prev, 1 2 3 Next, End, then VM seems to work correctly but
3. The items are randomized, making the pagination pointless!

I have tried fiddling with the configurations for hours and switched templates and the problem is persistent. Please help!

For what VM version your commercial template was created originally?

I am using the JA Vintas template from Joomlart. My guess is that it was built around vm version 2. I have also verified the pagination issues with other templates.

First in VM Configuration/Templates go though your settings for "Set the pagination sequence for the List Box".  Then check the entries in "Category Pagination Sequence" for each individual category.

Thanks Jenkinhill for the help, i think it is not a bug in VM but a combination of settings which results in no pagination and incorrect limitbox

In the entries "Category Pagination Sequence" for each individual category the "Initial number of listed items" must be set to "0" .
