Display Cusom Fields - I am confused - changes in product template?

Hello,

I am confused. I defined custom fields, assigned them to a product.
Quesition:
Do I have to change the productdetails template in order to show them yes or not?
Nothing is display so far...
When I assign layout position f.e. on bot, should they automatically be shown there?
I thought I have to define every custom field as a varibale in the template, right?
How do I do this? I would need an example please.

Hi

You should see them without modifying the template.
I think that if you leave the position field empty they should be displayed
