Hi All,

Is there any way to share shopping carts between multiple Virtuemart stores without hacking the code. I see some extensions called JMS Multisites at http://www.jms2win.com that does this by hacking the code, but we're finally migrating to J 2.5 / VM 2 and we don't want to hack the code for obvious reasons.

If we have two sites, we simply want users to be able to log in with same account and to also allow them to put item from one site in their cart and an item from the other site into their cart and to apply the combined total to determine if they quality for free shipping. It seems that this should have been a no-brainer feature added to Virtuemart, but I guess not.

Thx,

So there is currently no way to do this without hacking the code?????? This seems like such a basic feature that makes trying to stay committed to Virtuemart such a pain. We have thousands of users on Virtuemart 1.1.9 and we're trying to migrate to Virtuemart 2, but not having descent extensions is making us rethink the whole Virtuemart thing. We found another solution by CodingMall (http://codingmall.com/faq/7-joomla-products/147-multi-vendor-single-cart-virtuemart) that hacks the core, has no forum, no reviews, and costs $899. Is Virteumart in a tailspin?

Oh. I meant to type 899 GBP. Today that equals $1381.85. Tell me I have missed something here.

Did you try that codingmall plugin?

No, I decided not to go down that road. I love the guys at CodingMall and use a few of their other extensions. They are all compiled and require ioncube, so watch out if you have issues. However, they are responsive. I'm simply not ready to fork over that type of money for a product that hacks the core. Even if it wasn't a hack, I'm not sure we would fork over that type of money for it. I wish Virtuemart would implement this into the core as there already seems to be a foundation. But I suppose such functionality is simply not that important to the masses of the community.
