Create/change Joomla Account on VirtueMart Payment Received

I would like to sell 1 year subscriptions on my website. I'm using Joomla 2.5 and VM 2. Registered users with a subscription have access to some electronic products.

At the moment customers can buy a 1 year subscription on the website. As soon as I receive the payment, I manually create a Joomla account with the permissions to access the electronic products and send the information to the customer. I don't like that the customer has to wait for me to manually do this. I would like to automate this process such that customers who pay by credit card receive an email with the account information within minutes. Also I'll need a solution for existing customers to extend their subscription.

Is this possible with VM2.0 at the moment? Does someone know an extension to do this? Will it be possible with VM2.2?

I have used CBSubs to manage subscriptions for a case like yours, but there are other subscription managers in the JED This is better for me than modifying VirtueMart to do a function for which it was not designed (and this will not be part of the core in 2.2).

I have a commission to build another membership site, but this time will probably use Akeeba Subscriptions

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I was focused so much on VM, I didn't think of using a Joomla Extension.
Of course it would be very nice if there was a subscription extension that uses VM products, VM payment methods and so on!
