Using Quotation marks in custom fields in 2.0.18a

Hello,

Really silly problem that I cannot seem to find an answer to but if you have just a standard custom field and need to use quotation marks (") in it, the product will save once and display it on the frontend, however if you then edit the same product it displays the text up until the " and then nothing after and will then save this way. So I need to find out where it is stripping the quote marks off in the admin section if possible?

So I am still unable to work this out but it now seems that if there are quote marks in the title field it will allow it but not in the custom fields, although I am sure it wouldn't allow both previously. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be really appreciated as I am at a loss with this.
