Getting a large number of emails after an order is placed

Hi,

For some reason when an order is being placed in our VirtueMart shop, customers are being sent a large number of duplicate emails telling them exactly the same thing.

Here is an example email name:

[a8df013], Order confirmed by Mr Customer, total £3.00

It seems to arrive at least 5 times.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've searched and found instances of this before but no-one has given a solution which is up to date and that I can use.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When the order status changes?
Or when they placethe order.

When they place the order. Afterwards a load of emails come through with the exact same status so it doesn't change. Here is what is displayed in the Admin interface for the order:

Why is it doing this? It's in the same state but doesn't make sense as to why its sending multiple emails.

Joomla 2.5.9 and VM 2.0.20b.

Any ideas?

That's a notification from PayPal, which apparently checks the receiver's address more than once. Normally, this means that your shop email is not registered in your account settings at PayPal or not yet confirmed. So, all of you have to do is register the email to your account. If the email is registered then all you need to do is to confirm it. If you need to find out how to do this, perhaps this helps:
