Cost and final price

Hi, is it possible to just manually enter the cost and final price without any rules being applied. For example I want my cost price to be £20 and then I manually enter my final price as £30. Whenever I do that now the final price gets changed back to £20. Any help would be great cause its driving me crazy. Thanks
