Cloud Host with Virtuemart

Hi ppl.
I just want to ask if anyone got experience with Cloud host using Joomla + Virtuemart - for more than 15.000 products in the DB.

- The problem is that my fathers website is hosted on "just****" and is giving many problems when someone try to enter in website it give the message: Database connection error (2): Could not connect to MySQL.
. Many times we dont got visitors or Clients and it's too bad for our litle store..
So I'll need to help them and change to a different and cheap host .. I am thinking in a Cloud solution but i dont know if this could be a trust/fiable solution to many products in dB or in the other hand if the problem will persist.

Can we trust in Cloud host.. Good or Bad?
I read some articles in www.. but nothing like here in forum to get a specific J + Virtuemart User Experience ...

(PS: I dont want to know hosting names / prices )
