Disable Shipping

Does anyone know how to disable shipping?

I have done a pro bono site for a charity http://wishingwellintl.co.za and all people need to do is donate.

Virtuemart insists of having the shipping enabled. And on the Shipping method, the only option is "By weight, ZIP and countires".

So now in the billing form, the Country and State/Province/Region is a required field. But for South Africa, the drop down for State/Province/Region is blank.

I either want to:

1) tell Virtuemart to not worry AT ALL about shipping, just leave this out, not required!
OR
2) Be able to tell the Shipping Method "By none" sp that it does not insist on keeping the Country State/Province/Region field in the list.
OR
3) Be able to go to Shopper Fields and for virtuemart_state_id change the field type to text so that people can fill in their own State/Province/Region.  At the moment it is on Select, for the drop down. I just want people to fill in their own info there.
OR
4) I see that other countries have a drop down for State/Province/Region. But not for good old South Africa. Drop down is blank. Where do I add provinces for South Africa?

I have searched for ages through the forum but can't get conclusive answers, so hopefully we can consolidate answers here.

OK, I have found where to add "states" to a country.

Configuration -> Countries -> Then look for [States] next to the country name and add your States/Province/Regions
