Joomla menu with virtuemart issue

I have a product slider (showing products from Virtuemart) on a single article page.
When I click on the product (on the slider) and navigate to the Product Details page, my menu is not active anymore.

I found that the menu item "single article" adds "component/virtuemart" to the product URL. And this is why my menu does not recognize it anymore.
Any ideas, how can I remove the component/virtuemart from the product link?

It's very simple, just assign Virtuemart Front Page to any menu item.

Thanks, and I have tried this, but the problem is that I have to add a menu title for that Virtuemart Frontpage menu item.
And when I add this, the path changes from component/virtuemart to whatever the menu title is.
For example, if I set the menu item type to Virtuemart, and add the menu title as VMTITLE, it appears as  mypage.com/VMTITLE/category/product, but I would like to have it mypage.com/category/product
