Feature suggestion, "Calculate base-price according to estimated market price"

Hi,

According to my logic "cost price" = the price I (the vendor) pay for the product, and "baseprice" (incl. TAXes and VAT) = "cost price" + optional "profit" + TAXes and VAT + optional (estimated general market sales price  - (cost price + profit + TAXes and VAT))

So what I really want is an optional field to fill out, similar to the current "Calculate the costprice" field, where I input an estimated general market sales price for the product, and when I mark a box "Calculate base-price according to estimated market sales price" and hit save the system will add the following result to my product's base price: the input value of "estimated general market sales price"  - (cost price + profit + TAXes and VAT).

What this does is that it gives you the option to have your base price always match the estimated market price, without changing the initial cost price input, and it can be shown in the shop to the customers as an actual reference to the normal market price.

Here is a practical example where it comes in handy..

I want to display a product with a "nice" sales price of 399,- and I want to show the customer that he/she will get a discount of 100,- (a nice number) compared to the "normal market price" for this product. The "normal price" is in this case, as I see it, the estimated general market sales price for the product. I also want to display the "normal market price".

In other words I want to display the product like this:

1. Product picture.
2. Sales price (WITH A LARGE FONT)
3. The normal market price (with a strikethrough)
4. The discount amount.

To accomplish this I want to be able to do the following in the back-end:

1. Input the cost price.
2. Input the estimated market price as a "nice" sales number, in this case 499,- and mark a "Calculate base-price according to estimated market price"-box.
3. Apply a "100,- discount" rule to the sales price.
4. hit "save"

The end sales price should then be 399,-, no matter what the initial cost price input is.  The best thing is that the cost price can always match my actual cost price and all the numbers shown to the customer are "nice" numbers.

Sales price:  399,-
Normal price: 499,-
Discount: 100,-

My own cost price: whatever weird (but correct) number..

I hope that you can see the logic behind my suggestion..

Brgds

Also, in addition to this, it would be great to have the option to show the discount in the shop as "%" instead of a number.

Yea, I feel like this is a crucial feature (both the Market vs Base-price thing and the % discount thing), because in "real life" this is how most people (non-programmers) view things.. It is very basic, and if this was added it wouldn't compromize any other features that are already implemented.
