Joomla 3.7.2 and Virtuemart 3.2.2.
If someone selects a custom field (in our case dog collar colors e.g. red, black, orange, blue) the invoice shows all of the custom fields for that product.

Any help? When a customer orders and chooses a color it prints all of the colors (custom fields) for that product. Instead of showing Black on the invoice it shows every color on the invoice.
We have to keep calling every client that orders please any help would be appreciated!

I don't see how the template could affect the custom fields print out on the invoice.
We have no javascript running on our custom template. All javascript is through Virtuemart.

Try the latest release, http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/1085/com_virtuemart.3.2.3.9587_extract_first.zip on a copy of your site.

If the update don't fix it try protostar. You may have overrides for the invoice creation.
