Product neigbours manually ordered not working

Hello;

Working with vm2.0.18a, i have selected "ordering" as default product sort order. This way I am able to manually order my products per category.

What happens is that the product neighbours disappear, on the product page. As soon as I set the product ordering on 'product name', it works perfectly, but i need the products ordered manually.

Any idea's?
