Hi,
Couple things.
1. After choosing one of the child products child variant option stops to work  - only selected product stays as an available option to choosing (attachment 1)
2. When we choose 'parent is orderable' in the customfield options, we have redundant info 'choose a product variant first' on the selectable list. (attachment 2)
3. I see new option in Generic child variant  - cart input. Could someone explain its acting?

Mmm how did you set it up,

Take a look at how we did it:

This is our parent product: http://comenaranjas.com/en/shop/artisan-products/jam-400-g-detail.html

Our settings:

As custom field choose "Generic child variant" and enable it as cart attribute.

In your parent product go the the tab "custom fields" and dont choose parent ordeable instead select show parent as option.

The effect should be something similar to our website.

Regards

Milbo

thanks lindapowers, but he talks about the vm2.1.1 version, which has indeed this error.

I wanted to write that soon, maybe tomorrow.  I think we all want 2 or more dropdowns done by childs.

Ouch sorry guys, read the update but though it was the joomla version :D should drink less saturdays.

Yeah I remember we spoke about it via skype Max, there are little modifications there need indeed which would add a lot of flexibility.

Milbo

Btw the latest svn has this. UP to 6 Ramifications are possible with vm3 now
