If you don't want to build shipping tables and want to use USPS this plug in is worth it:  http://virtuemart.cloudaccess.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/usps-detail

You will have to setup an account with USPS to access their web tools.  Once you go through the process you will have a username and password.  All you need to use to plugin to the shipping module is your username.

Great tool.  Keep up the good work!  Is UPS and FedEx close by?

Thanks

Hi, I have the same problem and can't seem to find a solution.

I have Joomla 1.5/VM2 2.0.6.

When I first installed VM it was version 2.0.4. Automatically I updated to 2.0.6 via the component and proceeded to input all my products. Later I found out that I needed to install the "com_virtuemart.2.0.6a_ext_aio.tar.gz" for the plugins in order to put the payment methods, but the installation process for these plugins has never worked. Is there a way to manually install?? Does the fact that I input all my products before installing the plugins have to do with it not letting me install the plugins now??

Any help is appreciated!!!

Hi,

If you install the com_virtuemart.2.0.6a_ext_aio.tar.gz via the Joomla installer, it should install all the plugins and the modules automatically.
When you go in the Payment method for example: you have a a selected list, which should display all the included payments plugins: playpal, standard, payzen, ...

I have googled and searched this forum for weeks on this topic and I'm still coming up empty.

I have a fairly simple shop. There are a few products that do not ship (will call tickets, not a digital product). I have other real products that do ship. I want to charge a flat rate for shipping for real products. Tickets are not shipped and should not have any shipping charge. I also process my credit cards offline.

I am amazed I can't do this out of the box but can someone guide me to the answer? A non-commerical solution would be preferred. The reason I chose VM was because of the number of incredible supporters out there. I was able to do this in 1.1 fairly easily but now I can't in vm2.

Hello,

My configuration is: Joomla 2.5.6 , VM 2.0.6, VM AIO 2.0.6 . My problem is that the payment method list is empty, as well as the shipping method list.

What have i done wrong? What is the solution for having the preconfigured list of payment methods?

Thank you very much!

Problem solved!!!

For those who still have this problem, check if you have installed the virtuemart aio package which includes the payment and shipment plugins. Also, check in the Joomla administrator if these plugins are enabled.

Further on, you won't see a list of payments in the Payment Method tab (VM backend) and you have to create a new payment method. I suggest you this link that really helped me: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=101478.0
