maybe a kickstart project or something?  i know a bunch of us would throw in a couple bucks to get it done.  is there any doc on creating the payment plugins?   maybe someone could write one?  i would take a shot at it

eradio

No authorize.net?!?  :o

Why even release 2.0 if you can't process with one of the largest gateways in the world?

alatak

Hi,

The plugin is done. We are just waiting for authorize.net to authorize it :)

jbrunk

thats awesome news!!! when its approved, how will you release it?  a separate release?  an update to VM2?

Really i don't know. We have not decided yet

jbrunk

why does authorize.net need to approve it?  Wouldn't it be just considered custom code?   can we get it from svn or anything?  I would like to atleast try to get it in my dev environment so i can finish testing and get ready to deploy

i agree - why does a.net need to approve it? also, does this mean the manual process plugin is also near release?

Milbo

LoL

Think about what you just said. Why should a payment gateway for creditcarts be authorized?

Maybe because it should be a safe thing?

The real problem atm is authorize.net. Write to them. Say them they should answer us. When they do not answer, we cannot put authorize.net into the core, thats it. So please write to them and say "I want to use authorize.net with VirtueMart 2! This guys are already done with it, they wrote to you, they didnt get any answer yet!"

Be aware there exists a lot of other payment gateways, working for the same creditcards companies. When they do not answer, we will never provide in the core. I must admit, we are not used to be ignored.
Should I fix your bug, please support the VirtueMart project and become a member

Hi,

As mentionned Max (Milbo), it is a security for all of us that our development is certified by Authorize.net.
We have submitted our solution to them, and we are waiting for an anwser.
Now the problem is the delay between our submission and their approval.

If you want to speed up that process, please write to them, and tell them you need our solution to be approved asap, because you need it to have your shop online, and your shop uses authorize.net. :)

By the way, I have implemented the AIM method, and I do not store the credit card information in the DB. But u need a SSL connection. AIM is Authorize.Net recommendeds that  method.

Ofc, if you prefer to use the DPM solution, it is not a problem. I also though doing it.

I am most interested in the offline/direct entry method.

I liked the old vm way of the split delivery of the number with ssl enabled.

I would use authorize.net only if necessary but would prefer to have the offline processing option plugin.  this has worked well in the past.

if one makes appropriate efforts to maintain the security of the number, including its split delivery and never storing them both in one place, I think it is a legitimate option that does not have to include a.net |or others| at all.

plus, just fyi, having worked on other systems for different customers I know they're known to be slow for such reviews/approvals

can you explain this further please? is this going to be a core implementation or a payment plugin?  sometimes I understand there is a bit of a language barrier.

No no , Max meant : as a plugin delivered included in the aio component, and not installed as a separate plugin.

Hey Everyone,

I'm assuming this still isn't approved.

Alatak - Do you have a online link/email/address we can write to them?  I'd love to bug the crap out of them and hopefully others would too.

Thanks!

alatak can you please comment on the OCC or offline authorize method of payment?  is this plugin done as well, or can you say when that will be available?  It is really crucial to be able to take payments as part of a shop.

Ann

I just installed VirtueMart for a large webstore I am developing - I'm absolutely floored that authorize.net isn't available - so the only way to accept payments through VirtueMart is Paypal? That seems horrible - most professional stores prefer not to use paypal. Is there any word on this or am I going to have to use another shopping cart?

You can PM me. You can also find my email address on the developper portal.
