I will give it a whirl. Is there any hope at all to import products I had made from 1.1.9?

If that fails for whatever reason, you can still export/import selected table columns holding your product data with MySQL-GUI tools like phpmyadmin, MySql Workbench, HeidiSQL, etc. Its pretty easy, but probably is a little bit more time consuming.
