I have found some other code in another Joomla site (Non-VM) that is broken in IE9 and which is a also "fixed" by using IE8 emulation. This means that I'm going to have to makeextensive tests using my least favourite browser. Thank you M$.

any news on this problem?? I seem to have the exact same problem over on this is really troublesome.

With IE9 I can't get past the checkout: Chrome en Firefox are fine though!

I have tried adding this without succes:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE8" />

Any pointers/tips on how solve this? I run Virtuemart 1.1.9 en Joomla 1.5.23.

I have an update on this for people who experience the same issue.
I used to have the 4 checkout steps (in shop configuration) combined to 2 steps.

This is what causes this strange behaviour in IE9 during checkout. (note: with new accounts the checkout wouldn't continue; with old accounts it wasn't a problem).

I set the checkout steps back to the original four steps and the problem is gone in IE9.

Hi Kelvyn,

I have the same problem with checkout and IE9.

Just to be sure: I placed your piece of code <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE8" /> in the head-section of the index.php of the template I use.

Just did this 5 minutes ago, so I don't know yet if it really works. Don't have EI9 on my MacbookPro so I have to wait a week or so to see if my customers don't complain about the checkoutprocess anymore.
I'll post an update soon.
