I feel like a total dope! I had set my cart as the "default" in menus... oh well. Maybe someone else won't make themselves crazy like I just did.   ;D

Hello, I have installed VirtueMart and it seems to work fine EXCEPT now you don't reach my HOME PAGE when typing in my URL but instead you reach the CATALOG HOME PAGE. If I disable VirtueMart then you get a 404 error when trying to go to my site at http://www.dangcoolartworks.com. Can anyone help??

OK, I have the same problem - sort of. I don't want the virtuemart component to be my home page. My site is a news site, so I need the hom epage to be a frontpage, and I have virtuemart component on another menu item. And that doesn't work. I've been jacking with this for weeks now trying to figure out why it didn't work, and I just today figured it out that for virtuemart to work right you have to have your default home page as virtuemart component. Which is not what I want, and this is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation. I tried changing my Site url and secureurl in the viruemart admin config to domain.com/menu-with-virtuemart-component, but it messes up paths for everything and doens't work. If I leave site url and securesite as just http://domain.com and https://domain.com, when you hit submit to send payment it goes to domain.com/index.php and there is nothing in the content area.
So, does anyone else have this problem and doesn't realize it or can anyone verify that I'm correct in thinking that you have to set your default home page as vm component.

Thanks. Hope this helps someone.

I think I'm going to look at ixxocart.
