Download Item and Other newbie queries

Hi

New to Virtuemart. How can I make an item in the shop which when user pays, he can download the product online. I saw it in admin -> configuration. But while adding a product I cannot see the option of download directly instead of shipping options coming.

Can someone explain the procedure on how to do an item with download item and as soon the order is approved how the user can download it?

Also, I am testing (not going to be live) an item (like exam registration). So I dont want any shipping options show. So just the user selects the exam, pays and when the item is marked shipped, the email he gets is the receipt. How can I do this??

Ok now the download shop item is working, but I still have few problems.

1) If an item is downloadable it still asks for shipping and adds the cost of Australia Post / DHL etc.. I dont want that to happen

2) How do I mention only specific shipping options to specific items?

I added a shipping option called Dowloadable files only. Not sure if what you want is possible.

You cannot mix downloads and shipped articles easily. A possible solution is here:

You cannot specify shippers for items, but you could perhaps work this with weights?

If you only have download-able products you can disable shipping by,

In Admin -> Configuration -> Checkout (tab), remove check mark from 'Please select a Shipping Method'

If you have both physical and download-able products you can use bypass shipping add-on hack.
