TAX dropdown in some products, not available to select in others and random

hi there
I have a weird issue going on in VirtueMart 4.2.0 10905 and J4.4

TAX dropdown available in some products
Not available to select in others
and randomly calculated in other products for no reason

can anyone suggest why this is happening please?

Tax Config - note it is for all products and should be available to be selected by whatever I choose, but it isn't.

Apologies if this is referenced elsewhere but search as I might I cannot find anything about it.
I am assuming it is a configuration issue.

Did you figure this one out at all?
In my shop all items are +20%vat and now i need to add some products that dont have vat applied to them, but like you i dont have the dropdown option to set a "vat exempt" rule for the product: https://prnt.sc/sCH3byO_uTpu

enable expert pricing in:

vm/configuration/pricing

You will then see the option in the prodcut pricing
