[Virtuemart] Step for upgrade
« on: January 03, 2014, 16:41:58 pm »
Hello to all,
I have the need to update an e-commerce made of:
- Joomla 1.5.23
- Virtuemart 1.1.2
(I know it is in a very bad situation)

I would like to at least update to the latest version of Virtuemart compatible and available, ie 1.1.9.
I'll leave this version of Joomla, right?
I think this might be enough to put him in safety, confirmed?

(Subject to Backup Database and Directories FTP)
On Virtuemart.net I found the following package: Patch-VirtueMart-1.1.2-1.1.9.j15.zip proceed with the installation via FTP or as an upgrade to a standard component?

STEP you what do you suggest?

It 'also need to install this fix?
vmitalia.net/cat_view/76-virtuemart-1-1/81-pacchetti-aggiornamento/99-fix-versioni-precedenti

Thanks for the support.

Have completed the upgrade operation:
- From Joomla 1.5.23 to Joomla 1.5.26
- From Virtuemart Virtuemart 1.1.2 to 1.1.9

Two problems:
1) the product thumbnails (admin side) are too large then alter the view of the administration and it is impossible to operate, even while before I saw a photo of 1024px still very low
2) the editor to edit the description of the products is not to be, that the text is actually done ... if I disable HTML [Show / Hide] and then I restore then see the description.

How can I fix?

Thank you.

Given the presence of the errors that I can not solve, I thought:

1) perform a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.26;
2) perform a new installation of Virtuemart 1.1.9;
3) import the tables currently present (Joomla 1.5.26 and Virtuemart 1.1.2) to have all the content.

In reference to point 3, what would you recommend?
Besides importing the images used in Joomla and Virtuemart those, how should I import the tables?
With a simple 'Delete' on the new DB and 'Import' old or is there a better solution?

Thank you.
