VirtueMart 1.0.10 and Joomla V3

We are currently using VirtueMart plugin version 1.1.10 but found that is not supported in version 3 of Joomla.
We need to find an alternative.
The important feautures of VirtueMart that we are using are product listing and search features.
Can you please help us:
1) advise which version of VirtueMart is best suited for Joomla V3? or
2) provide a list of an alternative plugings (non VirtueMart) for Joomla V3
