2.0.12.f when switch to french language after installing pack I get no products

I installed joomla 2.57 and virtuemart 2.012f , once virtuemart was installed I installed the extension pack and entered some 20 products, then I installed french joomla language pack and turned on french as the site language when I go to the front end I see no products or categories, I do however see the cart, which is not translated. When I click on show cart the checkout page is indeed in french. Been turning in circles for hours any body any ideas why this is happening. in viruemart 1.19 was not a problem to change site language any time.

To correct your problem, you need to copy data from your en-GB database tables into fr-FR tables.
