Creating Shopper Groups

I've looked all over VM's site and searched YouTube videos, but can't seem to find any good documentation on how to set up Shopper Groups. I found some old videos, but they didn't seem relevant with VM2 (vs VM1).

Do any of you have links to shopper group documentation/manuals/tutorials?

Some ways I'd like to use shopper groups:

1) When someone logs in, they only see certain products, with prices at X% discount (or a custom price)
2) When someone logs in, they see all the normal products, with prices at X% discount (or a custom price)

The site is currently set up so that all products look like they are on sale. I want the original high price (in red with a slash) to always remain the same, no matter what the shopper group price discount.
