Can this be implemented using your plugin?

And one final question. The 1 year license indicates period for free upgrades or does the product stop working?

Yes, DigiToll Downloads will fit your needs perfectly. You will set up each resolution as cart attributes (or variants), then bind a different download to each resolution.

You may use DigiToll Downloads for as long as you wish, even after the license expires. The license is simply for support and product updates.

Hi, a couple of pre-sales questions:

1 - I have a site with a handful of products but thousands of orders/purchases in VM1.1.x. The products are downloads using the standard VM 1.1.x "downloadable" product system. Is your migration system designed to be able to import these so that my existing customers will be able to continue to download the files they purchased?

2 - In the old system it was a pain (but possible) to update the versions of the products I was selling. I had to go into the database and do a query to update all the jos_vm_product_download records plus jos_vm_product. Can I ask what the procedure would be with DigiToll Downloads to issue upgrades to customers of a particular product?

i.e. the product was version 7.1.1 and I release v7.1.2. So I used to upload the new version into VM, assigned to the product, then I would go into the DB and update all the jos_vm_product records to the new filename, then delete the old file. This would mean that all the old download links would still work and pick up the new version instead of the old one. I would want to be able to achieve the same effect with DigiToll downloads, but hopefully without having to update the DB like that.

1 - DigiToll Downloads does have a built-in VM1 migrator that is supposed do exactly that. It hasn't been extensively used but it has helped a few customers migrate data. If it doesn't work for you, I can definitely help you get them migrated and offer you a full refund if I can't.

2 - What you've been doing sounds exhausting! I release DigiToll products exactly how you're describing. I just update the download to point to the new file and all existing download links point to the new file as well.

It sounds like DigiToll Downloads would be a perfect fit for you.

A little side note: I use git to version my development and phing to package and deploy the extensions (phing build script here: https://gist.github.com/stephencroberts/7848386). It automatically adds version and metadata to source files, zips them, uploads to S3, and updates the database on my website.

I mean besides selling digital downloads if there is a feature for creating developers account so they will upload their digital files to be sold in the store?
