Add to card problem - never after VIEW SOURCE in browser

Using Joomla 1.7 and VM 2.02.

I was trying to tackle the problem of the add to card button now working properly by just viewing the source before adding to the card. I was hoping to then figure out if anything changed in the page source.

But after many many tries it never occurred after viewing the pages source. It does occur every now and then without viewing the source.

Can anyone else reproduce this? It seems that in my case it must be one of the security issues that I read about.
