I am at a loss on the frontend when a user accesses the my account menu there is a Shopper Group and it gives them the option of Registered and Public. I have shopper groups setup in VM but neither of them are registered or public. The only other place this is applicable is in the Joomla user configuration. I am confused and I wonder why a shopper would be able to see this let alone have permission to edit what group they are assigned?

No one has an answer for this or is concerned that the VM team has made it possible for a user to decide what shopper group they assign themselves to? I guess it would help to know where the hell these group names are coming from or what permissions they have but still! Support on this forum sucks and Virtuemart should have NEVER been released as even beta software with all the crap that is going on with this new release. This cart is an abomination and does not represent a team that has been developing a shopping cart for Joomla for ANY amount of time!

hi earthrat,

I had a look at what you were asking about? I have many users and none of them can edit the shopping group. (from the front)

I have joomla register turned on - they enter as a registered person and the shopping group is public - no admin.
* in the shop I made sure that in configuration that anyone can buy a product _ .

* later I can give that person a (special group if I wish)

Now when I go to the front of VM and log in I cannot edit my shopper groups? there is no option for me to pick.

* I can see my data , I can see edit profile but No option to pick a group - ? I do have two groups on in VM gold and another?
*??   I am happy to be corrected by others but I can see wquite a few looking at your post -non have answered.
* I do hope that others say - come forward and say that they have this  and they corrected it by ??

Sorry - I'll contune to play and see if it is a combination of joomla and VM settings -
