[SOLVED] Site 'sort of' logs user out while shopping.

While my user is shopping they seem to get logged out and I'm not sure why.

I've turned SEO off.

I've changed browsers (FF and Chrome).

I've set session time out to 3000 minutes (and 'database')

I'm using 2.0.6 with Joomla 2.5.5 on  LAMP set up.

I'm not sure what I should check next to debug this problem.

I'm not sure if this is a known problem, so if you've seen this and can point me to other threads with the same issue then please do (I did a bit of a search but didn't find anything, though my searchFu is not always the best )

I should add, the users don't get totally 'logged out'.  The site still lets them choose items and add them to the cart, though they don't seem to get added to anything.

I'm also using the site in 'registered' user mode.  This is a wholesale site, so we don't want people seeing the content who are not registered users.

SOLUTION

I changed the session handler from Database to None and the problem went away.

So I'm assuming there is a bug somewhere.

I'm not clear why there is a database option and what the differences are and why.
