Hide Specific Categories in category module

Hello,
Is there a way to hide certain categories to be displayed from the category module?
I am using VM 2.0.20b  and Joomla 2.5.11
As of now, when i select Top Level  in the module, all the categories are displayed. I want to hide 2 or 3 categories from being displayed on the module..
Any help is much appreciated..

Hi disco_dancer,

i had the same problem because i have 3 shops in one and they all use one VM install,

Now you can do what i did,

Make a new category and call it what you want the add all the categories to it like child-categories,so you can have your main categories like folders and then you just select the category in the module,

Example:

Main category1
--Child category 1
--Child category 2
--Child category 3
--Child category 4
--Child category 5

Main category2
--Child category 1
--Child category 2
--Child category 3
--Child category 4
--Child category 5

Then in the module you select the main category you need - like Main category1 and only the child categories will show.

Yes, thats exactly what i think but you see i have lots of categories and i will have to manually edit each and every categories..
By the way, balai 's option is good. I downloaded the component(+module) and tested it. It works. There is field to exclude or include Categories, which is just i need...

Hello,
I have dumped the 3rd party module as it has some conflict with some of the modules that i am using..
I am thinking of using VM's native Category module. Don't know if this is achievable or not.
How can i move the dropdown button on the right side closer to the title, instead of on the far right?
Also, is it possible to make the text for the Parent Category act like the Dropdown button, that is display all the sub categories when clicking on it(like the dropdwon button).

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello,
I would like to send the URL by PM, if that is okay?
You see, i am using YJ Accordion Slider for showing some K2 items as slider. This slider will only show only 2 items if the module is enabled(however i can see the codes for 4 slider images in the source code).. And the slider works fine, if i unpublish the category module. Why is it so?
