[solved] cannot save in 1.9.8g

I'm trying to install and work with VirtueMart 1.9.8G and I cannot save anything on host site, but it works fine on my desktop.  When trying to configure VirtureMart on the host site, it doesn't give a message, it just sits there.  I uninstalled G and installed F and it works, but there is lots of bugs.     I installed f and then install g but that didn't work.  I have tried firefox, IE8 and chrome and that each work the same.  fine on desk top, no go on server.  all other function in joomla 1.7 works.  Please Help?

Also the drop down on select menu don't work, they show blanks.
