Timing out before customer can pay

I've seen other similar threads, but never any resolutions.  If anyone else is having this problem or knows a solution, then please chime in.

I've got a site where I'm getting at least 3-6 bogus orders per day.  When I or my regular users try to purchase items, there's no problem, but for some reason several users are complaining that they cannot pay to PayPal and that the site is "timing out" almost immediately before they have a chance to pay.  Unfortunately, that's all the info I've got from them so far.

Website address:  http://bit.ly/1MHTC8

Most users complain this is happening as they try to checkout, I've gathered that it's either just before, or while they are on the paypal payment page.

It's been working flawlessly (for the most part) for several weeks, but lately there's been a larger number of users saying they're having problems.  We've changed nothing over the last two months.  And we can't seem to recreate the error, it works fine everytime we try or have a new user test it for us.

Bluehost hosting with GoDaddy SSL - running  Joomla Version 1.5.7  with  VirtueMart Version 1.1.2  and  PayPal standard is the only payment option

Thanks!

My only suggestion is to increase the time limit in Joomla that users are allowed to stay logged in for i.e. Session Lifetime

I think it defaults to 15 Minutes, This is the only place I can think that a timeout could occur loosing session data such as logged in user and cart contents.

If not that, then maybe paypal have a problem and the timeout is in the transfer to paypal for payment! Not sure how to solve that one.
