Has anyone REALLY gotten this to work with godaddy?

I have tried every suggestion on this forum and I can not get this to work.  Is this payment module broken?  I keep getting the following error:
"Error: connect() timed out!
Error: The transaction could not be completed.
Error: Failure in Processing the Payment (ps_authorize)"

I set this site up as a favor to a friend, and of course they have godaddy, so of course how can I expect something like a credit card processor to work.

Do I just start from scratch with a system that is known to work, or are there any real fixes out here?

I have been able to process through authorize.net!  Now if I could just get my UPS module to show up.
